back again '09
it brings back so many memories, so many wonderful moments on that stage. just that this year, this year, we're the audience. for the first combined dance night since we started it, we're part of the audience.
sadly, one major regret i have is that i wasn't involved in anyway, i didn't help out, i didn't go down to watch the rehearsals etc. then again, there's the question of being welcomed. right?
i watched it twice, once on friday night and once the matinee. friday's performance was bad, the dancers weren't on form. not to mention terrible seating makes for really limited viewing pleasure. saturday's matinee was MUCH better. and regina and i entered 45 minutes early, ensuring ourselves good seats (: this time round was better, we could see everything clearly, and actually enjoy it.
many mixed feelings about the different performances, costumes, transitions. but i have to say, i'm still god damn proud of our hccd dancers. seriously, we still own. i'm surprised at MAD, the hip hop standard has dropped. the mad alumni item was so much better, the technique, the idea, the execution, the ENERGY LEVEL.
i've missed the juniors. bojia qiuhan siyu, kitty's batch (all the lawyers to be hurhur)... i honestly feel old.
it's compounded by the fact that we're no longer on the same frequency as those still in hc anymore. like, after entering uni, we've acquired a very different set of tastes, beliefs and become so much more jaded about the world. how i miss those (relatively) carefree days of jc life, with happy family meetups weekly, long trips to the salt studio, camping in the pe studio during breaks, long lunches with 73, lounging at the class benches...
nothing belongs to us anymore.
but then again, it means we've grown, moved on. a part of our heart will forever remain, but the rest of us must move on. to bigger, grander things. but what bigger, grander things... remain to be seen.
barbeque at pasir ris.
half were familiar people, the other half was completely alien. but somehow we just erm can play a lot. and i oddly acquired the singer title. not that i sang very well lor. but it was fun (: i've missed e people at kms. it's sad that we seldom get to see daryl and his family now though.
bagetarian and vegetarian muahahahaha.
tuition later. oral oral oral exam sigh.
