ok firstly, we went there and sat down. then, they took our orders. then... the food started coming. after about AN HOUR or so. and they asked if one particular dish (which four different people ordered) could be changed to spaghetti instead or rice or something. which all four people agreed. and then... those poor people waited a long long long long long long time for their food. at least another 30 minutes i believe, because why? 

NEW YORK NEW YORK FORGOT THEIR ORDERS. after they so kindly agreed to change their order to accomodate what they had.

and then, when their food finally arrived, yingying's spoon was INSIDE the dish, and all oily and dirty. so, she requested for a second spoon. which came after FIVE freaking minutes. when she already gave up, cleaned her own spoon, and got down to eating. i can understand if they were really busy, but at that point in time the place was already clearing of people already. and our cold water was NEVER refilled, and all of us were really thirsty. so i requested for a refill. and five minutes later, ai jia requested for a refill. and another 10 minutes later, the waiter with a jug of water finally appeared. 

now for the dessert. the CHOCOLATE FONDUE DIDN"T HAVE STRAWBERRIES. so the people who ordered that changed it to a chocolate and ice cream waffle, when they were promptly told by the waitress that the time for the last order had already passed. so i VERY patiently told her that it was THIER FAULT for not having the order in the first place that they had to change it, after which she meekly when to get the order done. huiming and i also shared the same waffle with chocolate and ice cream, which came out looking like canteen 2 (of NTU's) waffle and ice cream. in other words, completely not very appealing. for can 2 we can accept, as long as it tastes good, but for NYNY??? cannot. the standards have got to be higher come on. 

terrible. and the staff were never ever apologetic. not when they delivered our food after an hour, not when they delivered the four poor people's food wayyyyyy later after forgetting their orders. not when they took super long to get us a spoon, not when they took 20 minutes to refill our drinks. 

which really pissed us off.

so, we decided we were not going to pay the service charge. aijia was the perfect bitch for that. she argued really well. i happily joined in with things like: "it's completely ridiculous that we are paying a service charge when we didn't get ANY service at all". which is so completely true can. and it went on for a while before she agreed. before that she wanted to give us a discount off a WAFFLE. which costed at cheap 7.90 when the service charge costed TWENTY BUCKS. are they that cheap?? obviously we didn't relent, and fought till she agreed. 

so we saved on the service charge. or rather, we didn't pay for what we didn't get.

they still had the cheek to say see you again when we left. yep, i'll see you again  when i pass by new york new york at jurong point. NOT when i STEP INTO it to eat. NEVER. nyny, kiss goodbye to the asses of all NTU chinese dancers, and all those who we are going to convince to boycott you. which probably means a substantial part of NTU too.
