you know, i held so much hope that obama would win that when he did, i nearly cried. reading the papers this morning made me cry. i wanted to watch obama's acceptance speech, but half the video is no longer available.
immediately after french yesterday i checked the websites, and refreshed, and refreshed, until the results were out. (:
he embodies hope for the future. he holds in him the potential of every young individual, and hope for mankind. he has in his power to crush the policies that have destroyed the world the past two terms. he will succeed.
just 2 decades ago, they were fighting for the black civil rights. fast forward to now, we have our first black american president.
i was initially rooting for hillary clinton, but he's proving himself to be good too. but i guess we can only tell after he actually takes office.
but he's taking over at a really difficult time. he's got to solve the entire world's financial crisis, and put it to rights. i'm not too sure he'll be able to deliver his promises on all the sweeping changes across the countries' policies on just about everything this term, he has to concentrate on rebuilding the economy first. which might make him lose some credibility. but still.
and i realised he talkes in the martin luther king style. it's possible to be moved to tears listening to him.
mc cain ran a good race, but had a lousy partner in palin. she's got gorgeous clothes (with a huge budget, who doesn't), and REALLY GREAT HAIR. all the fantastic hairdos. but she's got not much substance, i have to say. sadly.
well, i'm very satisfied with the results.
