i like flea markets (:
-although the feeling that someone has worn the same thing before is certainly quite irksome.
but who cares, when topshop and zara stuff goes for 5 to 10 bucks and the things look like they're in great condition. (:
dance today was fun. i feel my leg muscles strengthening! for the first time, i really felt what i was dancing during the 5 minute improvisation. theme: death of a friend. the first time we heard the music, i heard it happily. i liked it. then, xx told us his true story of losing the people around him. peers. can you imagine it? i can't. there's so many people i cannot imagine losing. no, rather, i should say that i cannot imagine losing ANYONE in my life. so after he told us the story, he let us hear the music again. this time, i couldn't stop myself. the tears just kept falling, even though i kept trying to hold in. i couldn't hear the lyrics, but i guess i sort of invented my own. the music sounded sad this time. the death of a friend. the feelings that immediately came were so strong, the ideas just flowed.
at first, we were all playing happily together. then, suddenly, someone is missing. from a group of five, down to a group of four. four of us, searching, searching for her. where is she? we pair us, the four of us, to cope with our grief. hand in hand, we walk through, helping each other. we change pairs, then finally, link back in the group of four. our eyes turn into the distance, where the lost friend walks on alone...
i really felt it. all it took was to imagine someone really close to me being played by yen ngee (she was the one who suddenly disappeared). and i felt a contraction somewhere in the region of my heart. omg. never, please.
then we moved on, to everything else. the choreography this time was done by us, more than xx. it was in our groups again. each one 4 counts of 8. then, dance was over. sigh.
i really don't want dance to end on saturdays. cos it's with people whom i really enjoy spending time with, in a really familiar place, where i've forged so many precious memories. and i heard pe block will be demolished. the lovely, homely place where we've danced, cried, had meetings, eaten, had HTHTs, slept in, gone wild and crazy in, fallen in love with dance, with dancers, with the society, the school in. demolished? demolished?.
well. anyway. then, a quick shower (for me, liying took years as usual), and we were off. supposedly to the national library, but we ended up at the flea market that grace shikin and regina were so ardently trying to get me to go -.- cos, well, as i said above, zara and topshop were going at great prices! yep. after that... i'm now at the national library.
shit, i'm left with half an hour to closing. back to my research.
