i have come to a conclusion after watching/listening to more version of alilang:
IT'S MEANT FOR ASIAN VOICES ONLY.
and more specifically, koreans. really. i'm not discriminating or anything, but it really isn't meant for western voices. somehow, they just cannot catch the quality. and why specifically koreans? because they completely understand what they are singing, they understand the background of the song, and so can sing it with the right emotions. even the version with little kids (LITTLE KIDS, mind you) who were koreans was so well done emotionally. only the korean versions were able to reduce me to tears, and some right from the VERY FIRST NOTE.
sigh. i'm feeling all wishful now.
