ok interviews.i found out bout the NTU mass comm one pretty late, sometime on wed i tink, and the interview was on SATURDAY. so naturally, i was FREAKED OUT. cos it was mentioned that we can bring a portfolio of works that we can use to boost our application!!!! I AM A SCIENCE STUDENT WHO HAS NEVER CONSIDERED HER FUTURE UNTIL QUITE RECENTLY AND THEREFORE NEVER REALLY DID ANYTHING THAT CAN CONSTITUTE A PORTFOLIO -.- ok enough madness. so i went for the interview thing empty handed. i think the test went quite alright, but the interview was a fiasco, at least for me. it started off with us being in the LAST interview slot despite not being the last slot for the test, hence we stoned for q a while before actually getting to the interview. imagine, if i had the earlier interview slots i may have been able to go down for the measurements for new costumes :( now i've to plan anth time to go down to sonata for the measurements. but it's ok i guess, the interview was and still is more important. ok so the intervening time between the test and interview was spent having a good lunch :) and watching videos by the final year students i think. i was really really impressed by some of the works, but the last one we watched was quite disturbing. it did affect my overall mentality at that time O.onot to mention i had fever 2 nights ago along with cough and the flu. AND i didn't really have much of my voice back yet due to the sore throat. i heard myself croak a fair few times during the interview rawr. it was seriously a great disadvantage to me. grr.anyway. yar the interview itself started off with missing admission test scripts. well it didn't really affect me, but the fact that i felt overshadowed by 2 of the other members of the interview did. oh, it's a grp interview with 4 people btw. one had an average portfolio, the other had a fantastic one. and between the two of them, it was hard to get a word in. several times i was on the point of speaking, but well didn't get to because one of the two had started. so overall i guess i din do too well for the interview. quite disappointed i guess. mass comm's the course i really really wanna go for. i said before i wanted USP in NUS, but that's just a program within the school. course-wise, ntu mass comm hits the mark. which makes me sad now cos i'm not too sure if i can actually be accepted thanks to the interview. hiaz.anyway. yar now the smu one which was last thurs. i went there still feeling feverish and with a wavering voice too -.- was quite afraid of sounding incoherent due to my illness -.- but apparently anth candidate told me i was still pretty coherent before the interview, so i hope i didn't utter much giberish during the thing. it was generally like a chit chat session, and the topics discussed were quite interesting. i actually enjoyed being interviewed -.- although, like i said, it was mostly like a chit chat session haha. and i went back to work after the interview, seeing as how i'm just a street away -.- so i worked the whole day with a fever! i can't believe myself >.<so there's the USP interview this tues. this time i really have to take half a day off. i hope it's an individual interview, i think i perform much better in such a setting. i'm not the kind who'll try to keep on talking despite anth person's obvious wish to contribute, i just don't have the heart to cut people to showcase myself. so i'm at a disadvantage at group interviews, i'm wayyy to nice :) egoistical me -.- well, there's nothing to do but cross my fingers and hope. ying ying gave me lots of advice and assurance for the mass comm interview, so THANK YOU SO MUCH YOU CRAZY GIRL! :) haha after all this time i still think of her as the crazy dance ic lol. not that i wasn't crazy either >.<>
so many things have happened, some good, some bad. this bout of flu, sore throat and cough came really at a very inconvenient time. coincided with all the interviews as well as the not so happy things. or maybe my mood contributed to me falling sick -.- well i dunno. it's ok, i'm sure i'll emerge stronger. and i'm thankful i've two great friends to always confide in :))) thanks you guys!!!
and well, that person has left. for good. i suppose it's a good thing, it was hard seeing him arnd all the time. save the little pangs of sadness. there's nothing to do but to wish you, all the best where u're going. thanks for all we've shared, and i'll miss you.
